Mid-Peninsula In Calif. Names Susan K. Black Chief Executive

Mid-Peninsula Bank, Palo Alto, Calif., promoted Susan K. Black to president and chief executive officer and elected her as a director.

She succeeded David L. Kalkbrenner, who relinquished these jobs; he remains president and chief executive officer of Greater Bay Bancorp, Mid- Peninsula's $1.2 billion-asset parent.

Ms. Black, a founding officer of Mid-Peninsula, was most recently executive vice president and director of relationship management and marketing administration.

Greater Bay Bancorp also elected George M. Marcus as a director. He has been a Mid-Peninsula Bank board member since 1987. Mr. Marcus is chairman and founder of Marcus & Millichap Co., a real estate brokerage.
