National City Promotes Exec To Head Banker In Stark County

National City Corp., Cleveland, promoted Ronald Briggs to area executive for National City Bank in Stark County, succeeding Kenneth R. Knutson, who retired as area president.

Mr. Briggs had been a corporate banker in Stark County for National City since 1982 and will retain his duties as area manager of corporate lending. He will also be responsible for expansion in Stark County.

In November, National City merged its northern Ohio banks in Akron- Youngstown, Ashland, and Toledo. It expects to merge its two remaining Ohio subsidiaries-in Columbus and Dayton-by Feb. 1.
