Tech Bytes: Entrust Says Its Codes Are Up to CDSA Specs

Entrust Technologies Inc., a leading provider of public key infrastructures, said it has taken steps to make its cryptographic tool kits compatible with the CDSA security framework.

CDSA, or Common Data Security Architecture, is a technical specification that originated with Intel Corp. and has been endorsed by Open Group, a major electronic commerce consortium. Supporters view CDSA as crucial to ensuring interoperability among various Internet commerce and transaction security approaches.

The growing awareness of the benefits of public key infrastructures creates "demand for interoperable products based on published and accepted standards," said Entrust executive vice president and chief technology officer Brian O'Higgins. "Adoption of the CDSA framework by other major security vendors affirms and renews our endorsement of the standard."
