Card Briefs: MasterCard Deal Cuts Package Delivery Prices

MasterCard International has made an agreement with DHL Worldwide Express of Redwood City, Calif., to give discount rates to commercial cardholders.

Companies in the MasterCard corporate card program can save 30% on DHL domestic and international package deliveries. BusinessCard customers can get more than $5 off the DHL published rate when sending an overnight package within the United States.

"Our newly formed relationship provides great savings automatically for our more than two million small-business cardholders," said Steve Abrams, senior vice president of U.S. corporate programs for MasterCard. He said the DHL deal is the first of "a series of cost-saving initiatives we plan to introduce in upcoming months" for corporate cardholders.
