Tech Bytes: Upstate N.Y. Bank Hires M&I for Tech Services

M&I Data Services said it has signed an outsourcing agreement with BSB Bank and Trust Co. of Binghamton, N.Y.

The $1.6 billion bank, with 13 branches in south-central New York, will rely on Marshall & Ilsley Corp.'s computer services subsidiary for all core applications and will use the BankerInsight Windows-based software for call centers and branches.

Data warehousing, cash management, teller automation, home banking, and funds transfer processing are also in the package.

"Our marketplace demands that we maintain a balance between traditional banking services and the newest proven technologies, and M&I has the banking and technology savvy to help us do just that," said BSB vice president Matthew W. Schaefer.
