First West Names Executive

SOUTHEAST

First West Virginia Bancorp, Wheeling, promoted Laura G. Inman, vice chairman since 1995, to chairman of the company and its two banks.

She succeeded George F. Beneke, 84, who retired.

Ms. Ingram, 56, joined the company in 1993, when it bought Wellsburg (W.Va.) Banking and Trust Co. She was chairman and president of Wellsburg Banking, which was incorporated into First West Virginia's lead bank, Progressive Bank, based in Wheeling.

Ronald L. Solomon, 58, president and CEO of the $162 million-asset holding company, was elected vice chairman as well. He also remains vice chairman and CEO of the Wheeling bank and vice chairman of its sister institution, Progressive Bank Buckhannon, whose president and CEO is Connie Tenney.
