Monroe Bancorp Names Executive

Monroe Bancorp, Bloomington, Ind., has hired Charles Conville as president and chief executive officer of the company and its Monroe County Bank.

He succeeded David Baer, who will remain chairman of the $324 million- asset company until retiring at the end of the year.

Mr. Conville was an executive vice president of UMB Financial Corp., Kansas City, Mo.; he oversaw central Missouri branches.

Before that he ran a consulting firm, Conville & Associates. Earlier he was chairman, president, and CEO of Grand Rapids, Mich.-based PrimeBank, a $450 million-asset thrift.
