B of A Adds Five To Forex Office

BankAmerica Corp., San Francisco, said this week that it has added five staff members to its New York-based foreign exchange operation.

Philippe Newlin and Veronica de los Rios have joined the sales desk, with responsibility for marketing to BankAmerica's branches and institutional clients in Latin America. Mr. Newlin comes from Swiss Bank Corp.'s foreign exchange desk; Ms. de los Rios, from BankAmerica's Mexico City office.

Tony Capozzoli was hired as senior risk analyst in the risk analysis group, where he will focus on East Coast clients. He joined the company from Globecon Consulting Group.

Eric Nickerson was named head of the global currency strategy group, which gives clients analysis and advises them on trading strategies. He is currently in BankAmerica's Hong Kong office.

Mr. Nickerson will be joined by Sheldon Engler, who was named senior currency strategist. He was formerly with the bank's economics department in San Francisco. Both men will relocate to New York "in the next few months," the banking company said.
