AT&T Corp. said it will be offering Verisign Inc.'s Digital IDs this year under the AT&T brand name.
AT&T said it will make the digital certificates available as part of its strategy of becoming a "one-stop shop" for businesses' Internet security needs.
"AT&T is one of the most trusted brands in the world," said Kathleen Earley, AT&T vice president of networked commerce services, which announced the private-label certificate authority arrangement last month. "It is only fitting that companies looking to purchase products that establish trust on the Internet turn to trust leaders like AT&T and Verisign."
Richard Yanowitch, vice president of marketing at Verisign, said the alliance "further signals the mainstream adoption of digital certificates."
