Barclays Capital, the U.S. investment banking arm of London's Barclays Bank PLC, has added four people to its global high-yield group.
Nicholas Daifotis joined Barclays as a managing director in charge of high-yield capital markets for the Americas and Asia. He has spent the last 12 years in high-yield and leveraged finance, most recently with UBS Securities, where he managed the leveraged finance group.
Two high-yield analysts also joined the staff. Andrew Jenkins was hired from Salomon Smith Barney, and James Sivigny came from BT Alex. Brown.
Edward X. Doyle was hired as a director of Barclays' New York sales desk. He will report to Jerry Connolly, head of high-yield sales. Mr. Doyle was director of global fixed-income sales for CIBC Wood Gundy Securities.
Barclays launched its high-yield group last August when it hired Joseph C. Bencivenga as managing director of its global high-yield and emerging markets corporate business.
Mr. Bencivenga said he plans to continue building the high-yield staff because he expects the sector to grow internationally over the next few years.
Barclays now has 65 high-yield professionals.
