Wilmington Savings Names Executive

MIDDLE ATLANTIC

Wilmington Savings Fund Society in Delaware has promoted senior vice president and controller Mark Turner to executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Mr. Turner joined the $1.5 billion-asset parent, WSFS Financial Corp., as a vice president/controller in 1996; he had been controller of the capital market division of Meridian Bancorp., which CoreStates Financial Corp. bought that year.

Earlier he was a senior manager in the audit department at KPMG/Peat Marwick.

In his new Wilmington posts he succeeded William Abbott, who retired May 1. Mr. Abbott will act as a consultant to bank for one year.
