In Brief: Chase to Move Its Ad Business to Foote Cone

Chase Manhattan Corp. said Wednesday that it had consolidated its $75 million advertising account with Foote Cone Belding Worldwide.

The New York agency, which previously worked for Citicorp, will develop advertising for Chase's retail, corporate, and processing businesses, and reshape its global branding campaign. Foote Cone also handles ad campaigns for Nabisco cookies and AT&T Corp.'s "One-Rate" product, with ads featuring the actor Paul Reiser.

Foote Cone won the contract after a three-month review that included bids from Bozell Worldwide, Grey Advertising, and McCann-Erickson New York, Chase said. Previously, McCann-Erickson handled Chase's consumer-oriented advertising, while Wells BDDP, recently shuttered, handled campaigns for Chase's corporate and wholesale businesses.
