In Brief: Household Hires Consultant as Card Chief

Household International on Thursday named Bobby Mehta as group executive in charge of credit cards.

Until recently Mr. Mehta, 40, was head of the financial services group at Boston Consulting Group in Los Angeles. Earlier, he was vice president of Citicorp's information business division.

He succeeds Joseph W. Saunders, who left Household in December for Fleet Financial Group. Household, whose principal card products include the GM Card and the AFL-CIO's Union Privilege card, has lacked a cards chief since December.

Mr. Mehta reports to chief executive officer William F. Aldinger.
