Hibernia National Bank Names Executive

SOUTHEAST

Hibernia National Bank has named senior vice president William P. Herrington as head of New Orleans commercial banking, succeeding Michael G. Gretchen.

Mr. Gretchen, an executive vice president, had held that job since 1981. He will remain in commercial banking, serving New Orleans, southern Mississippi and southern Alabama.

He will also support the U.S. corporate division and focus on private banking needs of high-net-worth individuals and professionals, Hibernia said.

Mr. Herrington has 15 years of commercial banking experience, 12 with Hibernia in New Orleans' commercial banking market.

The bank also hired Marian H. Marsalis as a vice president in credit policy. Ms. Marsalis is responsible for commercial credit approval in southwest Louisiana and southeast Texas. She had been an executive vice president at First Commerce Corp. of New Orleans, which Bank One Corp. bought June 12.
