Short Takes: Chief of Amro Unit Rejoins Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo & Co. said Monday that Timothy Leach, the president and CEO of ABN Amro Asset Management in Chicago, has returned as Wells' chief investment officer for private clients.

When he left Wells Fargo in 1994, Mr. Leach was a senior portfolio manager in San Francisco working with private clients. Wells Fargo manages $52 billion for private clients in a group with 660 brokers.

Mr. Leach joined ABN Amro in February 1998. He spent the intervening years as the president and chief executive officer of Qualivest Capital Management, an investment subsidiary of U.S. Bancorp.
