In Brief: Visa Appoints Three to Management Team

Michael Patriarca, a former bank regulator and a Wells Fargo & Co. executive, has been named head of audit functions for Visa International.

Mr. Patriarca moved to Wells Fargo from the Office of Thrift Supervision in 1992, was executive vice president and general auditor, and most recently oversaw year-2000 initiatives. He was one of three new members of the executive management team that Visa president Malcolm Williamson announced Wednesday.

Rupert Keeley was named head of finance, administration, and risk management-a newly created position, like Mr. Patriarca's. Mr. Keeley was the CEO of Bahrain operations and head of consumer banking for the Gulf region at Standard Chartered Bank, where Mr. Williamson had been chief executive officer until September.

Elizabeth H. Rounds, who has worked at Citigroup and Citicorp since 1974, was appointed to direct Visa's human resources division, succeeding John Van Aken, who retired.
