In Brief: B of A to Put Its Name on Carolina Branches

Bank of America Corp. said it will officially change its name and signs throughout the Carolinas from NationsBank to Bank of America on July 6.

The new Bank of America was created last year in the $60 billion merger of NationsBank of Charlotte and BankAmerica Corp. of San Francisco. The merged bank took the BankAmerica name but is headquartered in Charlotte. It has $618 billion of assets and operates offices in 22 states and the District of Columbia.
