KeyCorp in Cleveland Names Executive

KeyCorp in Cleveland has hired Michael J. Monroe to be executive vice president of corporate relations, a new post.

Mr. Monroe was vice president of corporate relations at Philadelphia- based Cigna Corp., the employee-benefits company where he had worked 16 years.

In his last post he oversaw 50 communications officers on corporate, media, and investor relations, as well as video graphics and production.

At KeyCorp, he is to oversee senior vice presidents John Fuller and Bruce Akers.

Mr. Fuller remains in charge of corporate communications, and Mr. Akers, of public affairs and community relations.

Mr. Monroe will start at KeyCorp July 1 and will report to James E. Bennett, senior executive vice president of strategic and operational services.

Early in his career, he held corporate communications posts at American Express Co. and Ingersoll-Rand.
