In Brief: Homeownership Boost Planned for Cincinnati

Mayor Roxanne Qualls, the Cincinnati Homeownership Partnership, and Freddie Mac have begun programs to lift the city's homeownership rate above the current 38%.

Freddie Mac designated Cincinnati as a fifth metropolitan "alliance community." It has committed itself to buy about $125 million of loans there over three years.

Other programs include funding the purchase and rehabilitation of two- to four-unit, owner-occupied homes, homebuyer counseling services, and low down payment programs.
