In Brief: 30-Year Fixed Rate Up Last Week, to 7.65%

The 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage rate increased 1.86%, to 7.65% last week, its highest level since June 6, 1997, when it was 7.85%, Freddie Mac reported.

The 15-year, fixed-rate mortgage also increased, by 1.8%, to 7.26%.
