Deutsche Suing Over Recruiting

Deutsche Bank on Friday filed suit against four former health-care investment bankers who jumped to Credit Suisse First Boston last week.

The suit, filed in U.S. District Court, alleges that the four bankers violated noncompete agreements by trying to hire more than 50 members of Deutsche Bank's Alex. Brown subsidiary.

Named in the suit are Russell Ray, who headed the health-care group, and three senior bankers - Harris Hyman, Steven Schuh, and Stuart Smith.

On Thursday, Deutsche Bank named Stanley B. Blaylock, Thomas J. DeRosa, and James P. Scopa to succeed them.

It is unclear how many bankers Credit Suisse First Boston was able to hire away. Credit Suisse First Boston said it recruited 20 bankers. Deutsche said the number was closer to eight, including the four named in the suit.
