Short Takes: W.Va. Company to Sell N. Virginia Branch

One Valley Bancorp of Charleston, W.Va., has a deal to sell a suburban Washington branch to a community bank based in Washington.

Century Bancshares has agreed to buy the Dumfries, Va., branch of $5.9 billion-asset One Valley. The $163 million-asset banking company would also buy about $5.7 million of loans and $9.8 million of deposits.

Century said it would pay a premium of about $126,000; the deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter.

It would be Century's third branch in the northern Virginia suburbs of Washington.
