Short Takes: Bank One, Kemper Offer Small-Business Plan

The investment management arm of Bank One Corp. of Chicago has joined with Kemper Funds to provide a defined contribution product to small businesses.

The One Group/Kemper Funds Retirement Plan offers 10 funds from Bank One's proprietary fund family and 11 from Kemper. Features of the plan include daily valuation, employee education, voice response, and Internet access.

This is the first time the two companies have worked together, said spokeswomen for Banc One Investment Management Group and Scudder Kemper Retirement Services.

Scudder Kemper Retirement Services is a division of Scudder Kemper Investments Inc., the global asset management arm of Zurich Financial Services Group. It administers more than 15,000 plans with $7 billion of retirement assets. Banc One Investment Management Group represents 8,000 clients with $22 billion of assets.
