In Brief: SEC Corporate Finance Official Plans to Leave

The director of the Securities and Exchange Commissions' division of corporate finance said Monday that he plans to leave once a successor is named.

Brian Lane, 40, said he plans to pursue a "long-standing interest in academia and business."

Mr. Lane joined the SEC in 1983 and was named director in March 1996.
