Short Takes: New England Funds Hires a Fidelity Exec

New England Funds has hired a Fidelity Investments executive as its national sales manager.

Kirk Williamson, who had been Fidelity's national sales manager for banks, started July 1 with Boston-based New England Funds, an affiliate of Nvest Cos.

Mr. Williamson, 44, directs the company's sales efforts and oversees 19 wholesalers as a senior vice president. At Fidelity, he oversaw 16 wholesalers.

Before that, he was a regional marketing director for Mutual Benefit Financial Service Co. and a broker for A.G. Edwards & Sons.

New England Funds sponsors 22 mutual funds, with $7.8 billion of assets under management. Nvest has $133 billion of assets under management through its 18 affiliates.
