Morgan Hires First Stragetist For Emerging Market Stocks

J.P. Morgan & Co. in New York has its first emerging markets equity strategist.

Carlos Asilis most recently oversaw the emerging markets portfolio of Vector Investment Advisors in Madrid and was in charge of forecasting global macro trends.

Earlier he was the director of emerging markets strategy at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York. And still earlier he was an economics professor at Georgetown University in Washington for four years.

At Morgan he will start with Latin America research and then broaden his coverage to other emerging markets.
