Short Takes: S&P Buys Web-Based Software Developer

Standard & Poor's of New York has closed its deal for Rational Investors, a Web-based 401(k) software development firm.

Terms of the deal, announced in July, were not disclosed.

Francois Gadenne, the co-founder of Rational Investors, has joined Standard & Poor's. His title has not been decided, a spokeswoman said. Mr. Gadenne is heading sales for Standard & Poor's 401(k) Advisor, which helps plan participants understand their retirement plans and make suitable investment decisions, among other things.
