Bank of America Names Executives

Bank of America has promoted Nancy N. Friar, a St. Petersburg fiduciary specialist in its Private Bank, to a senior vice presidency there.

Michael A. Shapiro was similarly named to a vice presidency in Tampa.

The two will be involved with the delivery of estate, tax, and financial consulting services to high-net-worth clients in their respective markets.

Bank of America operates as NationsBank in Florida. The Private Bank has $120 billion of assets under management.

Ms. Friar had been a vice president in St. Petersburg since 1994. Earlier she was a manager for NationsBank's specialized portfolio services center in Atlanta. She joined the old NationsBank in 1990 as a client service officer in St. Petersburg, having begun her banking career in 1976 at First National Bank of South Carolina, now Wachovia Bank.

Mr. Shapiro moved to Tampa from the Private Bank's Corpus Christi, Tex., office. He has more than 30 years of experience, including positions at Norwest, now Wells Fargo; at Harlingen Texas National Bank; at First National Bank of Clearwater, Fla., now part of Amsouth; and at Jefferson National Bank of Miami Beach, now Colonial Bank.
