Cards Briefs: Ex-Visa CEO Jensen Joins Trintech Board

Edmund P. Jensen, retired president and chief executive officer of Visa International, has joined the advisory board of the on-line payments software company Trintech Group.

Visa has made a strategic investment in Trintech, a leader in systems for securely processing Internet card transactions. Mr. Jensen led the San Francisco-based card association from 1994 to 1999 and now works with several venture capital firms and as an adviser to several high-tech companies in Silicon Valley.

He said, There is great synergy with Trintech's Internet payment strategy and my experience at Visa International and U.S. Bancorp, where Mr. Jensen was vice chairman before joining Visa.

Two others were named to the Trintech board at the same time: Magdalena Yesil, a venture capitalist who was a co-founder of Cybercash Inc., and Robert Schneider, founder and chief executive officer of SCM Microsystems, which is active in the smart card market.
