In Brief: Crestar Picks Customer Service Softwaren

Crestar Bank, a subsidiary of SunTrust Banks Inc. of Atlanta, has purchased software from Silknet Software Inc. of Manchester, N.H., to manage customer service for its Internet offerings.

Crestar will use Silknet's eService to manage customers' incoming e-mail, deposit and loan applications, and customer requests related to bill payment.

With the Silknet's eBusiness platform, Crestar customers can get information from the bank's marketing, sales, customer service, billing, or product development departments. Customers can also engage in real-time interactive exchanges and personalize the Crestar Web page.
