Ex-Donaldson Analyst to Direct Dallas Firm

The prominent banking analyst Thomas K. Brown, managing director of Tiger Management LLC, has been named a director of ActionSystems Inc., a Dallas-based consulting firm that helps banks with marketing and customer relationship management strategies.

Mr. Brown, in his previous position at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities, was one of the first analysts to make a connection between financial companies' sales and marketing proficiency and shareholder value. He struck up a relationship with ActionSystems and its chief executive officer, Robert Hall, that grew closer over the last few years.

"More than any other industry leader, Tom Brown discerns which banks are truly executing on customer strategies, versus those that depend on technology or scale," Mr. Hall said. "He talks to the front line, he talks to customers. His public perspective on the right solution for the industry has long influenced our decisions. His guidance in person will be equally valuable."

Mr. Brown listed three reasons for his interest in the directorship: "I believe ActionSystems adds value to companies who deploy their solutions. Two, I believe I can be useful in helping the company align its solutions with the multi-channel needs of complex organizations. Three, Robert asked me."
