In Brief: Top Bank of N.Y. Exec Wins Trade Group Post

Thomas A. Renyi, chairman and chief executive officer of Bank of New York Co., has been elected vice chairman of the New York Bankers Association.

The organization represents New York's commercial banking industry, including community, regional, and money-center banks with collective assets in excess of $900 billion.

Mr. Renyi has spent his entire 28-year career at the $63.6 billion-asset bank, starting as a management trainee in 1971. He was named last February to succeed retired chairman J. Carter Bacot.
