The Federal Reserve Bank of New York has rehired Leonardo Bartolini to lead international research in its research and market analysis group.
He will be a vice president.
Mr. Bartolini resigned from the bank in August of last year to be an economist in the research department of the International Monetary Fund. He first joined the New York Fed in 1995 as an economist in the foreign research department. He was named a senior economist in 1996 and an officer in 1997.
The New York Fed has also promoted Sarah J. Dahlgren and Darryl E. Hendricks to senior vice presidencies in its supervision unit.
Ms. Dahlgren will retain her responsibilities for information systems technology and the unit's year-2000 readiness and take over the bank's credit and risk management function.
She has been a vice president in the supervision group since November. She joined the bank in 1990 as an examiner and was named a supervision officer in 1995.
Mr. Hendricks, who is responsible for bank analysis, will now also assist with supervisory policy matters. He will retain his membership on the Basel Committee on Payment and Settlement Systems.
Mr. Hendricks joined the bank in 1992 as an economist in the banking studies division.He became an officer of the bank in 1995 and a vice president in the payment studies function since 1997.
Finally, the bank promoted Joseph S. Tracy, an assistant vice president in the domestic research department since 1997, to vice president. Mr. Tracy came to the bank in 1996 from Yale University, where he was an associate professor, as he had been earlier at Columbia University.
