Short Takes: Nationwide Names Bank Exec Corporate VP

Nationwide Financial announced changes to the management of its bank distribution unit on Tuesday.

Karen L. Eisenbach, 38, the president of Nationwide Financial Institution Distributors Agency, which deals with the bank channel, was promoted to vice president of the Columbus insurer. Ms. Eisenbach will be product manager for variable annuities.

Succeeding Ms. Eisenbach as the unit's president is Matthew A. Riebel, 37, who had been regional vice president at Nationwide Retirement Solutions. He has been a Nationwide employee since 1992.

Nationwide, the sixth-largest insurance company in the country in terms of premiums, is one of the top three sellers of annuities through banks. -- Michael O'D. Moore
