Northern Trust Puts Iwanicki In Charge of S.F. Bay Area

Northern Trust Bank has promoted John Iwanicki to president and managing director of its newly defined San Francisco Bay region.

Mr. Iwanicki was a regional manager of the large corporate group, a part of corporate and institutional services, in Northern Trust's Chicago headquarters.

He is to be the senior banker in the nine-county Bay region and will oversee private banking and trust and investment services. He also is responsible for expanding Northern Trust's market presence in the region. He will report to Sherry Barrat, chief executive officer of Northern Trust Bank in San Francisco.

Mr. Iwanicki joined Northern Trust in its London office and moved to its Chicago headquarters in 1982.

Northern Trust has $30.2 billion of assets.
