In Brief: Microsoft Takes Stake In a California Vendor

Micro-soft Corp. said it has taken a minority equity position in Tuttle Decision Systems Inc.

The Mill Valley, Calif., technology vendor is to supply data base and software services to Microsoft's HomeAdvisor Web site, equipping it to give prospective borrowers immediate loan pricing.

Microsoft's lead product manager, David Danforth, said Friday that the move should not suggest a push by Microsoft to get more involved in processing Internet mortgage originations.
