CIBC to Use Mytec Fingerprint Recognition

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce has ordered the Gateway fingerprint recognition system from Mytec Technologies Inc. of Toronto.

The $173.8 billion-asset bank said it will use the system to control access to an undisclosed number of bank facilities across Canada.

This is the first significant sale of the Gateway system since Mytec introduced it this year. CIBC tested an earlier version of Mytec's biometric technology in a Toronto facility during the past two years.
