Euronet Hires Exec For Development VP

Euronet Services Inc., which operates an automated teller machine network in Central Europe, has appointed former Fiserv Inc. unit executive Alex Groenendyk vice president of business development.

Mr. Groenendyk spent four years as president of Fiserv's comprehensive banking system international division. During his tenure the division grew by more than 400%.

Established in 1994, Euronet -- with corporate offices in Overland Park and in Budapest -- has a 1,449-machine network serving Hungary, Poland, Germany, Croatia, the Czech Republic, France, and the United Kingdom.

Mr. Groenendyk is to be responsible for Euronet's sales and market development worldwide. He will also be involved in Arksys, Euronet's U.S.-based software subsidiary, developing relationships with other providers of complementary core banking software such as Fiserv, MKI, and Datapro.
