In Brief: D.C.'s Riggs Bank Opens Office in Berlin

capital, said Tuesday that it has expanded its embassy banking operations to Germany.

The $5.5 billion-asset bank, which has worked within the diplomatic community for more than a century, has opened a branch in Berlin that will serve the U.S. Embassy as well as U.S. citizens and companies working in Germany.

Riggs, which has similar operations in Washington and London, said the focus on Berlin was prompted by pending moves of other foreign embassies there. -- Matt Andrejczak
