Burnsed Named Vice Chairman Of Savannah Bancorp in Ga.

Savannah Bancorp in Georgia has elected as vice chairman the chief executive of Bryan Bancorp, which it bought Dec. 15.

E. James Burnsed was also named chairman of the unit and its Bryan Bank and Trust. He remains CEO of both.

He relinquished the presidency to G. Michael Odom Jr., who was their executive vice president.

Former Bryan Bancorp directors L. Carlton Gill, James Toby Roberts Sr., James W. Royal, and Robert T. Thompson Jr. were also elected to Savannah's board.

Bryan, with $79 million of assets, is based in Richmond Hill, Ga. Savannah Bancorp also owns $179 million-asset Savannah Bank.
