Cybercash to Market HNC's Fraud Package

Cybercash Inc. said it will offer HNC Software Inc.'s Internet fraud detection service, eFalcon, to its 14,000 on-line merchants this fall.

EFalcon can benefit the merchants using Cybercash's payment processing systems by detecting and preventing fraudulent transactions.

"Our customers told us they wanted a complete fraud detection capability," said James Condon, the president and chief operating officer of Cybercash. "As many on-line businesses grow, fraud is going to become an increasing problem, and we want to be there with the best solution on the market."

Working with Cybercash, "HNC has consolidated its position as the established leader in on-line fraud protection," said Allen Jost, vice president of Internet risk management for the eHNC division of HNC Software in San Diego. "With its more than four million transactions per month, Cybercash will add immeasurably to the HNC eFalcon Internet Fraud Control Consortium," a joint effort to prevent fraud through on-line transaction analysis.
