Electronic Commerce Brief: Trintech Upgrades Web Payment Software

PayWare Net 2.0, the latest upgrading of its Internet payment software for merchants and merchant hosts on the World Wide Web.

Among the new features in the system are interoperability with the recently launched Visa Internet payment gateway and a full menu of security options, including the Secure Sockets Layer and Secure Electronic Transaction protocols, and the certificateless version of SET.

PayWare also flexibly supports Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 operations, Sun Solaris 2.6 and other flavors of the Unix operating system, and major on-line storefront technologies such as Microsoft Site Server Commerce Edition, Netscape Enterprise Server, and Intershop Communications' package.

"E-commerce merchants can now more easily leverage the vast potential of the Internet while maintaining the highest levels of security," said Trintech co-founder and chief executive officer John McGuire. He said merchants can be up on the system quickly and can take advantage of its scalability to handle higher volumes.
