In Brief: Bank Technology Firm Starts Direct Mail Unit

created a service called nAction to help community banks advertise and market their on-line offerings.

The package is part of a $10-million effort nFront has undertaken to develop cooperative marketing and branding campaigns for banks. So far, 30 banks have signed up for the service, and nAction has sent out one million direct-mail pieces.

Tripp Rackley, chairman and chief executive officer of nFront, said the nAction program removes many costs and risks associated with bringing an Internet banking service to market. "An average community bank cannot achieve the scale to sign marketing partnerships and generate brand awareness," he said.

Adam Naide, vice president of marketing for Primestar, which was acquired in April by El Segundo, Calif.-based DirecTV Inc., has been hired to lead nAction.
