Short Takes: 401k Forum Posting On a News Web Site

posting selected information from its Web site on the Internet site of MarketWatch.com Inc., a provider of business news and financial data.

401k Forum of San Francisco, which advises people on funds within their 401(k) plans, launched its 401Kafe Web site in April as an educational tool and resource for investors, said Jon Squire, director of on-line business development.

The company has been developing distribution agreements with financial Web sites for several months, he said.

The information available on MarketWatch.com's Web site will include a question-and-answer session with the founder of the 401(k) plan, articles, and a data base of frequently asked questions.

Separately, Mr. Squire said that 401k Forum plans to expand its Web capabilities "beyond 401(k) plans but within the retirement investment advisory arena" in the next few months. -- Cheryl Winokur
