Tech Bytes: Key Signs $20M Deal With Systems Manager

KeyCorp has signed a three-year, $20 million contract with CTG of Buffalo to manage deposit, loan origination, and customer information initiatives in the bank's western New York retail operations.

The contract extends one signed in January 1998 in which CTG developed a system to track the effectiveness of Key's direct marketing programs, enhanced its brokerage-investment and retail credit collections systems, and upgraded accounting systems. Most of Key's technology staff in western New York will join CTG.

Robert Rickert, chief technology officer at Key, said, "CTG is providing a way for us to concentrate on our core business of providing banking services while maintaining a high level of locally based IT support in western New York, a major market for KeyCorp."
