Short Takes: Schwab to Launch After-Hours Trading

said it soon will offer a separate after-hours trading session to both retail and institutional customers.

Customers will be able to trade Nasdaq and select listed stocks during the session, which will run from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. eastern time Monday through Friday.

Schwab will offer the service through its recent alliance to form an electronic crossing network in conjunction with Fidelity Investments, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, and Spear, Leeds & Kellogg.
