Compliance Technology Systems, of Whitman, Mass., has sold its software to 450 financial institutions, primarily those with less than $10 billion of assets. Its Wire Transfer Control System lets a bank record and store information about large-value electronic payments. Its Currency Reporting Control System is used to monitor and track large cash transactions, automatically generating the required Internal Revenue Service documents.
Smaller institutions otherwise store transaction details and fill out required forms by hand, said Glenn Gottfried, senior vice president at Thomson.
