Short Takes: Zions Unit Names VP To Manage Aquila Fund

R. Matthew Tullis has been named a vice president of Zions First National Bank and a portfolio manager of a mutual fund it subadvises.

Mr. Tullis, 29, joined the Salt Lake City bank in mid-December. He is in charge of the day-to-day operations of the Aquila Tax-Free Fund for Utah, which has $58 million of assets under management.

The fund manager is Aquila Management Corp. of New York, which has $3.15 billion of assets under management. Zions First National is a subsidiary of $16.7 billion-asset Zions Bancorp.

Before joining Zions, Mr. Tullis was a portfolio manager for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Salt Lake City. He succeeded Christopher Foley, who resigned in December.
