In Brief: Freddie Says Fixed Loan Rates Rose in Week

rate rose 8 basis points this week, to 7.93%, Freddie Mac said.

The same week a year earlier the rate was 6.73%.

The average for 15-year fixed-rate mortgages also jumped 8 basis points, to 7.53%. But the rate for one-year Treasury-indexed adjustables fell, by 1 basis point, to 6.3%.
