In Brief: Activist Group Pickets Citigroup in 20 Cities

Reform Now visited Citigroup Inc. subsidiaries in 20 cities Thursday to protest "discriminatory and predatory lending" and to demand a meeting with the financial giant's senior managers.

"Citigroup continues to redline our neighborhoods when it comes to good loans at fair rates," ACORN national president Maude Hurd said in a statement. "Instead, they are expanding into our neighborhoods with lending by high-cost subsidiaries which squeeze every last penny out of borrowers who have been denied better alternatives."

A Citigroup spokesman declined to comment.
